शहीद-ए-आजम भगत सिंह पर 1965 में बनी फिल्म ‘शहीद’ का गीत ‘ऐ वतन ऐ वतन हमको तेरी कसम’ देशभक्ति को समर्पित गीतों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ है जो आज भी गाने वालों व उसे सुनने वालों के दिलों में राष्ट्रभक्ति की भावना को जागृत कर उन्हें जोश से भर देता है।
भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की पृष्ठभूमि पर अमर शहीद भगत सिंह के साथी बटुकेश्वर दत्त द्वारा लिखी गई कहानी पर आधारित यह फिल्म देश भक्ति की सबसे प्रामाणिक व सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्मों में एक है, शहीद रामप्रसाद बिस्मिल के गीतों से सजी यह फिल्म 13वें राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कारों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म व राष्ट्रीय एकता पर बनी सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म का पुरस्कार अपने नाम कर चुकी है।
